Future (@1Future) sat down with Sway on MTV for an interview to continue promotion of his sophomore opus “Honest” (in stores now). This is Future’s most in depth explanation of what happened leading up to Beyoncé’s release of “Drunk In Love” and the back story of how he created the melody and some of the songs lyrics. However, the Atlanta trap vocalist received no credit for the song on the album and that almost caused a rift between him and Cash Money producer Detail.
Future conveys to Sway that it all started in a studio session with Detail as he was recording “Ready” which ultimately became a single for B.o.B’s “Underground Luxury” album. Freebandz H.N.I.C. reveals how Detail pleaded with him to record a reference which was sent to Mrs. Carter and became the smash hit single we know today.
Six months past and Detail approached Future with an offer for publishing on Drunk In Love in exchange for being credited on the song “Real & True“. The silver lining in the story is that Future realizes he and Detail make good enough music together that he’s willing to work out the situation and move forward.
On the flip side, Future may not be as forgiving towards T-Pain, who’s taken shots at him in the past and informs Sway he may not be open to ever working with him as a result. Watch below.
